THANK GOD IT’S FRIDAY | M A K E U P x T H E C I T Y

What’s going on boys and girls, if you’re like me, you’re happy the weekend is here, I always was the type to work Monday till Friday and typically, other then emails – the weekends are mine! So every Friday I’m going to start ‘TGIF’ which will feature weekend makeup, tips, fun city events and everything in between! I like the idea of consistency and coming up with little posts for everyone – but remember, drink responsibly and be mature if you’re going to be going out this weekend!

When it comes to weekends and playing your makeup up a lot of the times it’s as simple as just adding some pretty glitter right to the center of your lid especially if you’re wearing a basic neutral look. SMASHBOX has amazing little cover shot palettes which are absouloutly the perfect size to keep in your purse, back pocket or wallet. Recently I was sent a cover shot vault, and they have a cover shot of just pigmented glitter, it is absouloutly what you need to take the look to the next level ➡️ you can take a look at bold glitter right here.

There is also Stila Magnificent Metals they’re rather well pigmented and opaque. You will love the super shiny effect, they look like liquid metal on the eyelids. With the glitter, the finish can quickly look crumbly and not very elegant. But here, it’s not the case, the glitter particles are fine and very pretty. I just adore this finish. I love the fact that they’re pigmented, they’re not just glitter, they provide color as well. One of the facts about them that makes them good for going out, or just going to dinner is they’re long-lasting so they aren’t going anywhere.

Don’t forget to bring a touch up powder or blotting compact! it’s important to make sure you don’t look like you’ve already had your makeup on for a full work day, if you do have the time, go home and shower. The city life can be lives very very fast!

THE CITY (TORONTO) ➡️ EVENTS ➡️

The Village of Yorkville Park will be transformed into a glittering display of ice sculptures inspired by the Toronto Film Industry. This annual event supports the Heart & Stroke Foundation and features live carving, prize packages, and vendors. This is actually so much fun, I went last year and was just memorized by what these men and woman could do with ice! This is a free event for all ages, so family appropriate.

THE CITY ➡️ SEEING YOUR WORK IN STORES 📈

It was pretty cool – one of the companies I designed graphics for in the winter, I saw in store as I was about to check my things out! It was designed in photoshop and color shaded and detailed in LIGHTBOX – turned out awesome

I didn’t know the company released it. Check it out in UNTITLED AND CO. on queen west – for OneMethode PR STRATEGIES.

PRIDE TORONTO

Where to eat: Grab a bite to eat at any of the numerous street food vendors lining the street. For pub grub, get a seat and a plate of nachos on the patio at O’Grady’s (518 Church Street) or The Churchmouse & Firkin (475 Church Street). More upscale dining can be found at Church Bistro (555 Church Street), Lola’s Kitchen (634 Church Street), or Sambucas on Church (489 Church Street).
Where to drink: There’s no shortage of places to drink in The Village, and even more so during Pride when beverage gardens spring up all along Church Street. Head to The Green Space on Church beside The 519 Community Centre, where the beer tents and outdoor dance floor always draw a big crowd. Drop in at Crews & Tangos (508 Church Street) to enjoy live drag entertainment, or chill out with a pint on the patio. Across the street, Woody’s (467 Church Street) is a local institution with hot bartenders serving up cold drinks.
Where to party: The parties during Toronto Pride are legendary. At The Green Space on Church, there’s a different party happening every day from July 1 to the July 3, including Lipstick Jungle after the Dyke March and Disco, Disco after the parade. If you feel like a change of scenery, simply walk down Church Street where you can always find live music and DJ’s stirring up fun. And make sure to check out Fly 2.0 nightclub (6 Gloucester Street), whose go-go dancers, strobe lights and fist-pumping music have earned it a legendary reputation and numerous Best Dance Club in Toronto awards
