CoverFX has really changed up the makeup game from the derma brand I used to sell as a manager at a BeautyBoutique on king street in Toronto to now breaking the internet with the launch of their new (3) primers for the skin, but one, has them all beat, try keeping it in stock! One of these primers the ‘gripping primer’ which is exactly that, it almost turns the skin too a sheet of tacky glass so once makeup is applied onto of it, it isn’t going anywhere – with a $50.00 price tag (same a the below listed Smashbox) it isn’t found to be cheap, CoverFX was a brand born out of demand or at least they were, their pigmented mixtures and heavy coverage was created to help the worst of skin conditions and issues to feel beautiful, now they are a top luxury brand pulling from Shoppers to enter the world of Sephora and so on.

CoverFX has always been clinically tested, vegan and cruelty free product does not contain: paragons, fragrance, mineral oil, talc, gluten, sulfates, or phthalates which is something that in 2019 we want for our skin where the luxury makeup lines really do not feel they have anything to change once great, always great so they say.

SIDE NOTE ➡️ For the most flawless application, apply your primer first to the high points of the face – bridge of the nose, top of the cheek bones, center of the forehead – and blend outwards. 

When it comes to primers – there is the number one primer that takes the cake and that would be Smashbox original PhotoFinish primer, since creating the original primer they have come out with so many more primers under the sun, which have all kinds of ‘capabilities’ but do they really need so many avenues of the already great PhotoFinish. This is a silicone base primer and now comes vegan which is nice – so you better believe it will be a smooth, pore free application helping to prolong the life of your base even in hot summer!

 ➡️ MXTC subscriber has this to say after picking this up from me talking about it in a previous post “Bought this, skeptical about how a mist would work as a primer but elf has never steered me wrong. Well it works very very well! It’s the only primer I use and it keeps me matte for at least 6 hours. Also, because it’s a mist, not a gel or cream or heavy product like other oil control primers , my makeup no longer looks cakey. This makes my least favorite of all my foundations last for hours, so when I’ve got a quick trip I can still look nice without needing to dip into my high end products. It’s a miracle spray. SUMMER HAZE | WHY IS DEODORANT SO IMPORTANT..? | M X T C

Hello all you beautiful faces! I’m going to touch base on something you would learn in elementary school and if you really said no to dad when he asked ‘did you put on your deodorant today?’ when we both know…he didn’t then comes home because the kids thought it fun to poke at the easy target! no, no no this is not what happen to me, Hygiene was (is) always important to me! with sumner just around the corner I decided to partner with Vaseline Men to help you understand the different types of deodorant on the market and why it might be right or very wrong for your skin! I want to start off with something simple the different types of deodorant(s) and basically what it is they do for your body other then have boys or girls bring milkshakes to your yard, still don’t get it? yeah, I’m right there with you guys! A deodorant is a substance applied to the body to prevent or mask (hide) body odor due to bacterial breakdown of perspiration in the armpits groin, and feet.

A subclass of deodorants, called antiperspirants, prevents sweating itself, typically by blocking sweat glands. Antiperspirants are used on a wider range of body parts, at any place where sweat would be inconvenient or problematic for safety or convenience reasons, since unwanted sweating can interfere with vision, comfort, safety, or slipperiness/grip. I also know that it’s a lot to take in, you think that as you hit puberty all you need is to throw on a deodorant but by the time launch rolls around and it’s time for gym you don’t always feel so great about yourself, so as parents it would be a good thing to insure you watch your children or have them watch you apply your deodorant or antiperspirants.

The human body produces perspiration (sweat) via two types of sweat gland: eccrine sweat glands which cover much of the skin and produce watery odourless sweat, and apocrine sweat glands in the armpits and groin, which produce a more oily “heavy” sweat containing a proportion of waste proteins, fatty acids and carbohydrates, that can be metabolized by bacteria to produce compounds that cause body smells. 

Trust me, I sweat a lot! comes it calms down I’m typically good but I i just happen to leave the house one day and I was with my friend, B, so B and I went past a store and stopped to grab some gum and stuff and on the way out B said hey what about deodorant  and I’m so happy he reminded me because I just happen to grab Vaseline Men Active dry 48h PRODERMA 0% alcohol antiperspirant and I always would just grab a deodorant never thinking that I needed something more, it’s actually funny for two reason one i’ll never be able to replace this since they stopped making it, sadly and also i feel the same way about B, like I just said, I would just grab a deodorant not taking the time to realize that i didn’t want or need a deodorant, and the saddest part is I guess B and Vaseline Men are both discontinued to me.

IN BLOOM – CHARLOTTE TILBURY MAGIC AWAY COLLECTION WITH A TWIST | M X T C

Finally I got my MacBook back (though I do find myself getting stuck on the command and control key) from the Microsoft Chrome challenge, wow it took a little bit longer with shipping it back to me and everything like that, it also got stuck in customs for a very long time, but I’m going to break out the similarities and big differences between the two powerful computers in a coming post! I’ve also decided that any post that is for spring beauty, or new spring launches i will call ‘IN BLOOM’ which just seemed to be, just fitting too me! How are you boys and girls doing? I truly hope that you are all doing well, in Canada central Canada the weather has been pretty good! Not to cold but thankful not to hot! I don’t know why but I seem always over look Charlotte Tilbury! i remember going to a press event for he line coming into Holt Renfrew in Toronto on Bloor St. I wasn’t really liking the feel mind you Faulhaber Communications who was organizing this whole event and you can quote me on this, I truly think there is no better PR Agency in Canada then Faulhaber – they just do things one step on the game! But anyways a PR agency is not why we are here Charlotte Tilbury is, I just have to say how on the website its all ” hello darling “ it truly is iconically Charlotte, after meeting her now when I read the names or read a paragraph,  I can literally her her saying it, it’s wonderful! 

If you were to buy one thing for Charlotte Tilbury it should be the Magic Away Concealer and heres why honestly the Magic Concealer is like spanx for your eyes as much as that sounds, its completely true! it spreads itself out so thin but there is so much pigment and added benefits to it –  is an incredible full coverage liquid concealer in a netural shade for all skin tones and undertones. For five years, Charlotte Tilbury has been working on this holy grail of concealers that reduces the appearance of dark circles, blemishes and imperfections, for fresher-looking second skin instantly!

SIDE NOTE ➡️ If you think that this concealer was not 5 years in the making you are wrong! we would get yearly updated from who handle CT PR either the USA or Canada firm.

Next would be Charlotte’s Unisex Healthy Glow which is a hydrating tint – it’s not as full if  a hydrant as a tinted moisturizer, I would recommend putting a little of a stronger hydrator around your nose, chin, between the brows and centre of the forehead to give it that BAM This fabulous unisex cream is SO natural, no one will suspect you’re wearing it! and its so true so who else to try it on but my boyfriend who actually still wears it to date within his skin care regime, it really does just even out the skin with just enough coverage with a hit of bronze that you wouldn’t really expect. It kinda reminds of the Recipe For Men Bronze cream which does the similar thing ➡️ if not the exact same only its made to work more with mens skin and testosterone and such – which when you’re a man it’s nice to have those options without calling it ‘makeup’ and when I say if you’re a man I mean it as a guy who doesn’t wear makeup or know the world of makeup; plain and simple!

➡️ Next on my would be the Goddess Ritual Cleanser Duo from Charlotte Tilbury it’s absolutely one of my must have for cleaners ➡️ I always say that cleansers are a grey area, many disagree with me but it’s true, I don’t think there is enough time used to be able to make a difference within the skin, I’m not saying that they don’t do anything because they do, but what follows after cleansing your skin us where you will see the most benefits until trying this ➡️ Deeply purifying, super-charged cleansing duo for fresh, radiant-looking skin just make sure if you have blemish prone skin watch out for large doses of vitamin c sometimes with some skin it can have a negative effect! Sadly I know this all to well!

WHAT DOES YOUR SKIN SAY ABOUT YOU AND YOUR HEALTH | RECANTATION | M X T C

What’s going on boys and girls – I’ve had it with some brands, I really need to press that just because products are sent to me or I am paid to review and advertise something does not mean I will go and say lies about the product, I have to say, I give skin care and some makeup items a good two weeks, before I write a review. With a recent paid review (SERUM C | M X T C) I didn’t give it that long because I figured it’s just a suspended vitamin c, treatment strength, serum. I just have to say that, I should have gave it the two weeks because I ended up having a massive reaction to the product, with using Serum C I cut out all my skin care and used just a basic moisturizer with my eye products – I got the worst burns on my forehead, cheek and chin and no it was not a break out or anything like that, I thought that at first and I understand that so treatments like this can cause the skin to become ‘worse’ before it gets better, the worst part about it, is I get a damn press release which is information in extreme details and it didn’t say anything about a warning, it’s not the vitamin c it’s how it is suspended that makes it kind of dangerous for the skin without being micro needled  please google it if you don’t understand what I am talking about, the worst part about it when I showed pictures to the brand, and talked about what happen they just didn’t care, and they were not shocked. Did I mention Serum C comes with a $200.00 price tag, I’ve learned to understand different signs from my body using my skin that something isn’t right, inside and out, you should also.

There are 3 things people will first notice about you, eyebrows, skin and teeth, with out a doubt someone will make a impression about you based on those 3 things especially in the judgment world we live in today – your skin is the most noticeable part of your body. And it can play a major role in telling you about your health. Rashes, acne (spots), bruising, and more can all indicate potential health problems you may want to look into.

I know this 1 will be nothing new to you but stress, when you’re under emotional stress, whether it’s from a job or another life situation, your body reacts physically. If you’ve noticed breakouts on your skin but don’t believe it’s due to your diet or age, then it may be stress-related. Take a step back to find out what is causing the stress in your life, you have to try to calm down and cut the stress out because in most cases people will start to treat it like active acne throwing benzoyl peroxide and all kinds of chemicals thinking it will help the situation which typically causes irritation, loss of hydration and extra sebum creation and in return causes your skin to fighting back and it becoming worse which in return just makes you more stressed about your appearance.

SIDE NOTE ➡️ This is really important to remember, in most cases acne and irritation from stress is large, red, and 99.9% of the time very sore, you shouldn’t try to pop it but if you do you will find out that, it typically will not pop. As fast as it came typically over night is as fast as it will start to settle down and tone down, in as little as three days it will be almost completely gone, Try putting some Witch Hazel and Vitamin E cream on it or take Vitamin A orally, for no more than 3 days. Water helps your body sustain normal functions. When you’re not hydrated, your skin will show it. Your skin might become dry and look dull; you won’t have the glow you’d normally have if you kept yourself hydrated. While dull skin might not seem like the worst thing, being dehydrated is terrible for your body. The amount of water you should be drinking each day varies per person, but you should generally aim for around 64 ounces daily. I truly cannot stress just how important it is for your body to be hydrated, I don’t drink pop and only drink real juices and it’s not like I’m punishing myself, it’s because I just don’t like pop or overly fake sweet drinks. Next time stick with water, your teeth will thank you also.

Any kind of rash, hives, or red skin could mean you’re having some kind of allergic reaction. It may not be as dangerous as anaphylaxis (which often results in difficulty breathing, swollen eyes, and potentially deadly health problems), but it still isn’t something that should be taken lightly. If you’re taking a new antibiotic, make sure to check around your body and look for any sign of hives or rash that could mean you’re allergic to the drug or said ingredient. The same thing is to be said for some active ingredients in some skin care can interfere with medication or make you ill without even knowing it when it is absorbed into the skin.  If you notice anything, stop taking it and talk to your doctor or contact the company for more information about an ingredient as they have to disclose any and all information.

Another thing to look out for and I actually did have this happen to me, there is a massive difference between being pale and being almost white, if you notice you skin a little on the white, semi grey side, it would be wise to talk to your doctor and get a blood work panel done to determine if your anemic. There are different types of anemia and treatable with some vitamins. Make sure you pay attention to what your body is telling you.

➡️ There are so much more I could talk about, fungal infections, STD’s, menopause, or even liver disease but I think that’s enough to take in for today.

JWLS – Timepieces With a Purpose| M A K E U P x T H E C I T Y

Hello – this post is going to be set to go to live for Saturday I believe as I’ve had a small procedure done that I’m at this point going to be hopefully sleeping, and kept asleep for a little, its not plastic surgery was, I don’t think so anyway – my jaw bone was broken in my past and healed incorrectly so it will be re-broken and re-set into place and my mouth will be re-wired shut for a bit again, these is a lot of reasons why I want to do this and number one is purely for vanity. Sadly.

I know that anyone can find a cause that is close to something in their life or close to something that has caused them pain and run with the idea, I guess what I’m trying to say is there is a lot of ideas dreamt up and found a reality in the world because of heartbreak and that become successful because of the message that this item spreads, for example, Product (RED), TOMS, Radiant Cosmetics and the list keeps going and going. I find unless it’s very easy to become marketable at the begging because of all of the amazing work that you’re doing, but 56% of companies end up keeping the promised profits to charity – which is sad but not illegal for them to do as long and the intent is there and we continue to back them up.

Until I found, well I didn’t find, I wish that I could say I found this company, and I paid for the items because truth be told if I would have come across these in store I would have paid because of the craftsmanship, beauty, function, style, should I keep going? Also the work that they do is so transparent which I love, I understand you have to market and break even with yourself then the rest is pure profit, or in this case goes purely to The Julia Lyons Foundation which is a sad story with a beautiful message and marketing can become very exspensive and yes I was sent a couple of watches, one I am going to keep and the others I will ask if they would like them sent back or if I am able to give them away with the promise if social marketing such as #jwls #julialyonsfoundation or #fashionthattakesaction because marketing campaigns can becomes exspensive that’s for sure but choosing to work with micro influencers with an audience of 500k+ gets you so, so much more exposure so I hope that I am bringing awareness to such wonderful thing that is also close to my heart.

So in each BOXYCHARM box, you will receive 4 to 5 full-size beauty items. Ranging from makeup and skincare, to beauty tools and color cosmetics, each box has a minimum value of $100 which we already know is less of a value of FabFitFun but this is more up a makeup lovers alley, personally I found what was in my box could be used for a full makeup look – and from the way that I see them lay it out with the theme I’m going to assume they are set up to be used in such a manner.

Within my BOXYCHARM ➡️ TARTE ➡️ BDB ➡️ BITE ➡️ BRIOGEO ➡️ TATCHA ➡️ AND LUXIE which I did check and don’t know if Yosef Martin sent it to me for to be able to use the shadows with a brand that they work with, I do also know the owner and CEO mentioned above and he knew I was reviewing the box, so I will keep going with the thought that I did not receive the brushes, and to be honest I very much dislike the brand Luxie there is some sourcing they use that I think is unethical.

There is a couple of options for renewal of the box you can choose one time to make sure that it’s for you which is what I would always advise when it comes to something to this or three months because one box might be not for you so it makes a great gift, then the next box is what you’ve been waiting for.

➡️ Just so everyone knows also the BOXYCHARM through FabFitFun boxes along with some other unused PR, I donate to a local woman’s shelter for abused and homeless woman! They need it more then I, and I absouloutly know that it will give them a smile and make them feel beautiful when they need it the most.

BOXYCHARM is one of the subscription boxes that I would highly recommend for a lot of reason, gifts, personal, and the list goes on. Also don’t forget that you can choose to get the luxe box which is filled with even more items and a much larger value for your money, but it just will take some more of your money to get that box but it is worth the upgrade, isn’t it always?

FabFitFun really is the only box out there of it’s kind to focus on so many things but maybe that’s where it personally went wrong for me, they do offer a wide variety of items within – or maybe where it went wrong is because I am a man but that sucks even more to me. FabFitFun creates curated boxes of health and beauty products to its customers through an online subscription service. The company offers a seasonal gift box filled with fashion and beauty care products, every three months in a year. I know that they have different employees who also research the best, hottest and newest products for the box.

I was sent two boxes so that I was able to see a variety of change and see how the consumer would pick a nice little item or swap it out but when the boxes came they were the exact and I mean exact same, not a single difference, do I use the items, yes but it’s like a semi stock up of items because I already owned them – I have the Kate Summerville, GLAMGLOW, BLAQ eye masks – I kit you not even the maker of the cross body bag sent me some of there affordable but still ‘classy’ items and that was one of the items sent to me for that – the one thing that was ‘new’ to me or that being a man, with a penis, shocker (I mean absouloutly zero disrespect by saying that, we all know about sexual organs it ain’t new) was a throw that was amazing and it’s become my reading blanket or I cuddle up in it and watch a movie, I even used it as my blanket last night with my big comfy blanket beside me and I didn’t even need it, or touch it at all, I was comfy, warm and perfect temperature all night, that’s how comfy this throw is.

There was also a shower luffa type thing that was presoaked in body was and I read it and though whoa this would be absouloutly nice, so in the shower the product felt pretty stiff and hard so I got it wet and worked it with my hands so that it became softer, I thought it was appropriate to start washing my body, no, I still, yes still have what looks like rug burn and irritation and micro scratches from that shower brick, I mean beauty sponge for the shower. Come on FabFitFun whose choice was that?!

SIDE NOTE ➡️ FabFitFun brought in $40M in Revenue in the last year. Wow you’d think that they would find a way to incorporate more things for men within the boxes or have a separate smaller department just in case a box is split for men and woman fifty fifty.

Is it worth it ➡️ Yes, for a female who wants to try new things in the categories FabFitFun is known for then yes it is, it was also make a wonderful gift for my be your mom or sister so they are able to try something new if there life is very demanding, cute little concept but I do also want to point out that typically when I am sent PR, Press, Sponsorships and all of that it comes within the next day or maybe even second day, FabFitFun used FedEx ground and it took almost two weeks, which I didn’t really understand!

Friends, brands, incredible people and pretty good food – they say it doesn’t matter how big the city is, or the world, if you don’t want to see someone the odds are you will somehow. I always have this luck, it doesn’t matter if where I am or who I am with I will run into someone that I don’t want to see, even with an ocean between us but that’s not the point of this post, the city of angels, I can tell you right now there is a massive difference between work and play when you go to LA – a lot to see and a lot of places to play. Oppertunities around almost every corner if you know where to look and as long as you look the best.

I found that you can do just about anything if you’re creative enough, though you have to know where to draw the line, just like with anything; I was really surprised to find the intersection of Hollywood and Highland is like the Times Square of Los Angeles or Young and Dundas of Toronto. There’s very little here that’s exciting or LA-specific.It’s pretty much just a big, shiny, tourist trap if you come to LA for a work specific trip with a little time, you can absolutely do better in finding a place to unwind and feel the real LA-vibe. Ever since I was little, I would love taking the bus maybe to much actually even as I grew up I would put in my headphones and listen to music and just learn the area or the way around my new city or part of the city, I do not suggest LA city transit..it was…a good place to get the flu, one word ➡️ Uber.
If you’re like me you’ll have a touch up powder in your jacket pocket or have a cross body bag or nice backpack, assuming you’re not a woman and carrying a purse with you, there are a couple products that I’d recommend to keep your skin looking matte and oil free, if you’re not one for the touch up in public you can go the blotting paper route which I absouloutly love, and can really say they are not a gimmick, trust me I’ve done the leg work – Clean & Clear oil absorbing sheets will do the trick, but, you can also go the Fenty route with Invisimatte Blotting Paper which can work as rolling papers also in Marijuana legal LA and now Canada but that’s getting off topic! You can also just use your trusty MAC studio skin for that oil-free look that latest and a dose of pigment correction if you’re flushed ➡️ lastly if yo u’re carrying a cross body bag or purse you can throw in Smashbox Halo Hydrating powder for a fresh hydrated glow, pair with Smashbox Sheer powder brush.

SIDE NOTE ➡️ There is a lot of smog within LA and A LOT of air pollution so maybe pack a travel size Tatcha Luminous skin mist for only $20.00 or any brand really, just as long as it’s got ingredients to protect and keep the skin comfortable, and safe.
