MY MISTAKE(S) AND THE HOUSE OF AENEA | MXTC

Hi beautiful – so if you know I was going to get Botox and Filler and I was going to go just for my neck and jaw line but the more I looked at myself, I thought, well maybe some filler under my eyes, botox smile lines, a bit on my forehead and then hell since I went through re-breaking my jaw and alignment I shouldn’t just do filler I should get them to cut open my skin along the seams, pull the skin forward and stich it closed then botox along the ends to freeze my muscle, after I was done looking at myself in the mirror, I almost told myself ok, you’re free to go. I went to my consultation said all of this stuff to them I ask them to look me in the eyes and tell me what they saw, not once did anyone say you’re 26 years old, you don’t need this and in fact your skin is almost near perfect, there are moments in life that define our lives and there are moments the divide our lives, again I found myself saying ok, you’re free to go.

So where am I going with this? The House of Aenea heard what I was thinking about doing and they said give us a week and let us send you the products to try out, you don’t need to be cut, injected, and filled so thank you The House of Aenea, Yes this brand is luxury and it expensive but this line gave me the look of surgery without needed to go under the knife.

They created almost a system for me from the collection they already had, and the results after six days, are absouloutly crazy. Don’t let anyone or anything make you feel like you’re not beautiful or worth it. I know express or stress action speaks louder then words and when I asked to go to the bathroom and suddenly I was on the Highway, and the clinic was calling me; if you miss the appointment or whatever reason can’t go this is a VIP clinic so they have your credit card on file so that they can charge me 500$ if I wasted any time or didn’t show up – I’m not even sure if they took it or not and if they did, they obviously need it more then I ever did.

The first product that I was sent was The Lifestyle Enhancer, just from these names I knew they meant business this serum meets moisturizer protects your skin from ageing caused by oxidation, keeps your skin youthful and elastic by fighting glycation, and increases skin firmness while filling your fine lines and wrinkles which I don’t really have at my age but it’s a good time to start to fight it. The results if this product I saw almost overnight.

SIDE NOTE ➡️ This is just an introduction to the brand that I’m sure a lot of you have not heard of, I will be following up with before and after photos along with my videos from the nurse and surgeon and how they wanted too fix me.

What is glycation exactly? Technically it’s the process by which the structure and activity of proteins within the skin becomes slowly stiffer, leading to the collagen and elastin becoming less elastic, a well-known cause of premature ageing.
Another way to understand glycation is if you think about what happens when meat is cooked in a frying pan – as it is exposed to heat, the natural sugars in it become more rigid until finally the steak is hard. This is what happens to our skin when it is exposed to the ageing rays of the sun – it’s slowly glycating. As the sugar molecules react with free amino groups of proteins, irreversible cross-linked molecules are formed, modifying the structure of our skin and making it appear more brittle and stiff.

Next I introduced Modern Shield – A one-stop skin protector, the back-bone of your day to day skin defence, it works like an environmental shield, protects from high energy visible light from computers, offers protection from infra-red radiation and one thing I want you to pay attention to is “protects from high energy visible light from computers” I understand the damage that our phones and computers, technology in general is doing to your skin but I wasn’t aware of how bad it was hurting my skin.

Moving on to the Oxygen Plasma Serum which was one of the products I was interested in trying just because of the name, honestly, accelerates the skin’s ability to regenerate, helps the skin’s healing process, stimulates the metabolism of Keratinocytes, encourages collagen and elastin production and increases the penetration of other active ingredients so far.

I was very blown away by this brand by now, I would switch it up morning to night, or adding in a little bit of one mixing half one, half another which is actually encouraged.

I was also sent the Corrective oxygen mask, the Rosehip cleanser and Fruit acid gel exfoliator which all blew my mind, this brand really gave me something, diamond like precision, it’s the level of skin care you’d expect but with the price that will give you that slap in the face but, you know that it’s a wonderful line and worth every penny.

I’m sure that you all think BLAQ and GLAMGLOW would go well together regardless because of the brand types that they are but there is so many differences actually night and day – just so you know the Duos are GLAMGLOW Bubble Sheet Mask and BLAQ Eye Masks.  I wasn’t always 100% on the hype of GLAMGLOW I did a promo for them a while back which is what made me actually, see the ingredients, the factory and so much more!

Friends, brands, incredible people and pretty good food – they say it doesn’t matter how big the city is, or the world, if you don’t want to see someone the odds are you will somehow. I always have this luck, it doesn’t matter if where I am or who I am with I will run into someone that I don’t want to see, even with an ocean between us but that’s not the point of this post, the city of angels, I can tell you right now there is a massive difference between work and play when you go to LA – a lot to see and a lot of places to play. Oppertunities around almost every corner if you know where to look and as long as you look the best.

I found that you can do just about anything if you’re creative enough, though you have to know where to draw the line, just like with anything; I was really surprised to find the intersection of Hollywood and Highland is like the Times Square of Los Angeles or Young and Dundas of Toronto. There’s very little here that’s exciting or LA-specific.It’s pretty much just a big, shiny, tourist trap if you come to LA for a work specific trip with a little time, you can absolutely do better in finding a place to unwind and feel the real LA-vibe. Ever since I was little, I would love taking the bus maybe to much actually even as I grew up I would put in my headphones and listen to music and just learn the area or the way around my new city or part of the city, I do not suggest LA city transit..it was…a good place to get the flu, one word ➡️ Uber.
If you’re like me you’ll have a touch up powder in your jacket pocket or have a cross body bag or nice backpack, assuming you’re not a woman and carrying a purse with you, there are a couple products that I’d recommend to keep your skin looking matte and oil free, if you’re not one for the touch up in public you can go the blotting paper route which I absouloutly love, and can really say they are not a gimmick, trust me I’ve done the leg work – Clean & Clear oil absorbing sheets will do the trick, but, you can also go the Fenty route with Invisimatte Blotting Paper which can work as rolling papers also in Marijuana legal LA and now Canada but that’s getting off topic! You can also just use your trusty MAC studio skin for that oil-free look that latest and a dose of pigment correction if you’re flushed ➡️ lastly if yo u’re carrying a cross body bag or purse you can throw in Smashbox Halo Hydrating powder for a fresh hydrated glow, pair with Smashbox Sheer powder brush.

SIDE NOTE ➡️ There is a lot of smog within LA and A LOT of air pollution so maybe pack a travel size Tatcha Luminous skin mist for only $20.00 or any brand really, just as long as it’s got ingredients to protect and keep the skin comfortable, and safe.

RIDE OR DIE PRODUCTS | MAKEANDTHECITY

So with it being 2019 – it’s a new year and a new start to do better then last year, we all have those products that are our ride or die, we use them daily and freak out a little when we see we are starting to run out. Hey guys, I hope you had a nice week! TGIF! We are going to be looking at my favourite beauty items and hopefully I can turn you on to something new for the new year. New year, new you! Some of the products I’m going to talk about you will see in more details. I believe in the products mentioned and I believe the companies can grow – all products have been sent to me via PR or direct from company, unless mentioned.

There is going to be no particular order or anything like that, I don’t want anyone to think that I like one brand more then another brand, also we are all different which is nice, so something that might work well for me – doesn’t work so well for you and your skin. All we can do is try new thing until we come up with our must have list. There is going to be some items that isn’t skin care or makeup as well!

SIDE NOTE ➡️ I am a firm believer that sometimes you have to change up your skin care, it doesn’t have to be anything dramatic it can be something so small as changing your toner, or to a more moisturizing formula in the cold harsh winter life.

Next is something I just discovered but I absouloutly love so much called Restore* Wipes for you face and neck, the packaging is eco-friendly and so clever the way they made it come to be, The Restore* Wipes are individually packaged, making them great for on-the-go. With ingredients such as Chamomile, Cucumber, Jojoba, Aloe and more, Restore* Wipes deliver the proper nutrients to restore skin back to a calm and glowing state. I can’t say enough good things about my Clarisonic Alpha, it’s helped my skin in so many ways just to help get that extra clean and to make sure that all of the environmental pollutions, dead skin cells, stop the pores from even becoming clogged in the first place, the only thing I can say, if you buy one of these devices make sure you use it everyday and put the work in because it will change the look of your skin. It also minimizes water retention in the face and neck which creates more collagen and stronger skin without the needle! Removes dirt, sweat and oil for healthier looking skin and boy, does it ever!

This one I think is on everyone’s top love list and that is the MAC studio fix powder plus foundation which works amazingly but, that truly only if you know what your actual correct shade. SO I did a little test, I went to the MAC PRO store and asked my shade and got NW15, next, I went to the MAC inside The Bay, there I was told I’m NC15 – I think point I’m like how the hell.. So I went into the MAC store when I was shopping in Buffalo and they said I was N5. So I was just so confused again, I guess it depends on the person that you ask, but shouldn’t MAC of all stores have some kind of system or training to properly, I understand my skin tone, undertone and MAC’s color system so the first man was correct, I am in fact NW15, I guess I’m just saying make sure you get a couple opinions of what is right, for you. ALLURE’S BEST IN BEAUTY 2018 LIST | MAKEUPANDTHECITY

Hi there! So if you know beauty then you know Allure comes out with the yearly best in beauty which I would like to know the, well, way they come up with what was best in beauty, is it from editors stand point? The beauty guru lists? or really, all the sales taken into full account. Oh to be a fly on the wall there. All the brands saying that brands just pay to be on ‘the list’ to increase sales and drive the new market for the next year, and hey, imagine what brands would pay to be on that list, remember when I just said it drives sales, yep sadly, it works.

Allure likes to break it down into different categories, best in, base, body, breakthrough (whatever that means) and eyes just for example. So did Allure create the Grammys of Makeup? How influenced by this list will you be? Let dive into some categories and what’s in them.

Base ➡️ you would think that this would be my favourite category because I’m all about that perfect base and less being more but, you’d be wrong to assume – within this list you will see a lot of familiar names ➡️ Marc Jacobs ➡️ L’Oréal ➡️ Estée Lauder and some that you might not know such as ➡️ Erborian, but something tells me that that brand is going to have a really good coming year. There are some on the list that I would even award myself such as NARS Soft Matte concealer which I use on the daily. I do get the list and Allure was smart to think it up but really anyone who does monthly favourites eventually does the yearly favourites so it goes back, what do they consider most for this list?

SIDE NOTE ➡️ I guess that there are nothing taken into consideration within the list except for the makeup who cares if something was completely stolen from a indie company – the thing that’s sad also is Allure choose the ‘bigger’ company when the indie company who the bigger brand completely ripped off deserves to be in that place isn’t, and you all would know in a second one I told you one of the names of the two I am referring to but that’s not the point here I guess. It’s the makeup, remember?

Some products and brands I do truly believe deserve to be there and since it’s Allure almost if not all beauty of 2018 was more then likely sent by PR to the beauty team, and a lot of PR comes with stuff not even involving the makeup, like a free iPhone or Apple Watch. I guess it comes down to what you want to think and what you don’t all I know if the Powder Winner was a Becca Powder that I didn’t even know existed let alone was dominating 2018 – but hey, I’m only a beauty blogger in the hundreds of thousands, growing more and more every day, who lives in the makeup world but Allure knows better – and really I believe that they do. We all have and are entitled to our own opinions.

A lot of people have the theory that most moden foundations and concealers are all self-setting but that is absouloutly not the case, if it doesn’t say it’s self-setting then you have to set it with a powder and it’s not for the look of powdered skin but for the longevity of the makeup and to make sure that your face doesn’t melt off a hour after you’re done, we create body heat which is not a friend to cream makeup or concealers.

Another really, really great product that is not new per say, but just got a package change is from HOURGLASS which is a little more expensive but if you have oily skin to acne prone skin this would be a game changer for you, hell it works for any skin type, it’s all in the way that you use the product and yes if you didn’t guess it I am talking about Immaculate Liquid Powder Foundation.

This foundation has some amazing ingredients which I will highlight and what that ingredient does for skin ➡️ Advanced Cashmere Kaolinite Clay: Works continuously throughout the day to control oil, while drawing out impurities to keep skin clear ➡️ Phytostem Edelweiss: Provides antioxidants, smooth’s the look of skin, nourishes the complexion, and protects from free radicals ➡️ Oxygenating Solvents: Deliver oxygen to the skin to help clear pores. All ingredients within are vegan also.

SIDE NOTE ➡️ drawback of this foundation is that it can only be used with people who don’t tend to have dry patches. If this foundation is applied over dry spots, they will look even worse than they already do. It will make them very noticeable. If you get dry spots and still want to try this foundation, make sure to use a heavy moisturizer before bed to prevent dry patches. The only other thing about this foundation that could be bothersome to some people is that it is very waterproof. Many people’s face washing routine is only using face wash and then rinsing, which doesn’t work with this foundation. Even when primer is worn with this foundation, I find that because it adheres so well to the skin, washing it off can be a little bit difficult.

Happy Holidays guys, from my family to yours, it’s Christmas eve right now, sadly if you read the start to yesterdays post (GREEK GODDESS COLLECTON | LUNAR BEAUTY MAKEUPANDTHECITY) you’d know why this Christmas well, sucks, but I am going to try to make the best of it as I can – but I don’t want to not wish everyone around the world, celebrating or not a happy and safe holiday season with your family, and remember it doesn’t have to be blood, sometimes we make our own family and that’s completely alright! I’m sitting next to a cracking fire at 5:07am with the Christmas tree lit up, surrounded with all these products and it feels comfortable – sometimes it’s nice to put in headphones and just write.

To be completely honest with you, I wouldn’t mind if I didn’t see Tarte or open a new Tarte package for a good year, I do like Tarte but they are a trend company and no really the type to start just follow what they think and before it even makes it they have in production five hundred products incorporating a smile for example, Tarte factory employees must be so well paid, and what warehouse in China, Canada or USA? good, uh, question. Tarte just doesn’t stop and some could see this as a good thing but in the beauty industry, we all need a break unless your company is creating new ideas, not just creating for the sake of numbers. Also what’s with that dude with blonde hair now in all of their how to videos, what does he do for Tarte?

Alright so the new Tarteist™ PRO REMIX vault is as they always do for sale on the website and maybe in Sephora but it’s been a long time since I have had to go into Sephora but I do have to go there today actually so perfect, I will check and update if they do. I will say, the one that I got in the mail have all the Tarteist™ PRO palettes and also a brush with the splatter handle, and three shade that are closest to my tone with vibrant color caps, which I wasn’t able to see for sale but the other items are, The brush is alright, nothing special, at this point we all know what a Tarte buffing brush is like they did a feature re-launch of the Clay Full Coverage Foundation and I don’t get what that has to do with a remix, but that was what I am talking about with the company, anything to make extra or make the consumer think they need more crap.

Tarteist™ PRO REMIX ➡️ When this palette came out it was the same time Morphe x James Charles came out so I feel like the Tarte team sat down and was like crap, what can we quickly do to do a pop of color in a cool way that’s fresh, It was smart of Tarte because Tarteist™ PRO Palette was actually not well received by makeup artists who actually do to grind. Even influencers found it to be extremely underrate for the price – so a remake of this palette could potentially be a smart move on Tarte’s end. Sold for $65.00 for 0.70 oz. and you can buy it and everything else mentioned in this post here. I’d consider it more of a complementary palette than a typical standalone palette but that really depends on your need for mattes in a look which now a days are pretty high with that said, I do want to mention that the bio about this palette is almost a toned down version of Morphe x James Charles all about unleashing your artist and going outside of your comfort zone some might say, This Remix palette is for those who love metallic shades – it’s full of shimmer and color with three matte shades and the rest pretty much chocked full of shimmer.

SIDE NOTE ➡️ Within the Remix palette you will get 20 shades, pricing is mentioned above and where to buy, there was a lot a lot of fall out when applying the shades and there was as much with the OG Pro Palette, understandingly that more fall out is typical with shimmer and metallic shades. Most makeup loves will have similar shades within already owned palettes.

Tarteist™ PRO glow & blush ➡️ This is actually a winner in my eyes, The OG Pro Glow was well loved in my kit, I think that Tarte creates some of the best blushes on the market but this doesn’t even come close to the blush book that they have called blush 101 which came out for the back to school products – it was also good marketing to do a refresh on both of the PRO Palettes and not just the Eyeshadow Palette because other brands were launching a lot of great palettes. I do like that they decided to include in one bronzer that is the perfect universal shade for a bronzer, I do wish it was a little lighter for more fair skin but it really is a nice shade. The pan size is also almost mega sizes which is really nice because you will find them lasting you for quite some time!

The time has come, hey kitty girl – I don’t know if you have been under a rock for a little or are just not a fan of the show Rupaul’s Drag Race but they just released the first 15 minutes of episode 1 and it looks absouloutly amazing! I do have to say and maybe like many but All Stars is my favourite seasons because I love seeing the queens come back and seeing how much they have changed and just really go for the crown. Which to me seem like a really good line up, it was just to much of a tease for me I mean at the end when Latrice and Manila but I am fascinated to find out how Manila and Latrice’s relationship has changed since their disastrous turn on All Stars 1.

All Stars fourth season premiere comes just one week after Rupaul’s Drag Race Holi-slay Spectacular, airing Friday, Dec. 7 at 8/7c. The festive face-off will reunite Eureka O’Hara, Jasmine Masters, Kim Chi, Latrice Royale, Mayhem Miller, Shangela, Sonique and Trixie Mattel as they compete for the title of Drag Race’s first-ever Christmas Queen. They’ll lip sync for their lives to tunes off Rupaul’s holiday albums Slay Belles and Christmas Party. Which was a cute mini episode to watch the best part and spoiler ahead ➡️ when Michelle and Ru both lip sync for their lives and the dancer add in is, maybe a little to funny, or sad. Hard to say.

Also how do you feel about the trans element within drag? I mean no real woman dresses and wears makeup like a drag queen so the drag element is still there, it’s still within gay culture – also do you guys remember Ru making a transphobic comment last year? Some say that’s why Gia Gunn is even back, as sort of an apology?

I will keep updating this as we go! Don’t forget as a fan you are more involved then ever this season we have the chance to keep a queen or save a queen that should be, interesting.

Hey guys, as we get closer and closer to Christmas day, I kind of want to know – does anyone else start to feel, lethargic? It starts out I’m so excited, and happy for the holiday, it’s a fairy tale in motion almost, then, I’m in a endless line up of shoppers, endless family members, crazy drivers, I say it every year about giving my time to people who need it, or helping at a shelter or donating and I mean to do it but I always forget, and I know I’m not the only one who has the thought, we are always told, it’s the thought that counts, so that’s it then, I can feel good because I did have the thought to do it, so why do I feel lost this time of year. Just so everyone knows, I did go to the shelter and offer my time before it became the after thought of the year. So the holiday PR came in two boxes this year, and within the first box I opened I saw something that I thought Anastasia Beverly Hills should have done for along time now – a eyeshadow vault and it was really nicely done also. Soft Glam Eye Shadow Palette is pretty much an essential neutral palette works with all skin tones and the color payoff is beautiful. Subculture Eye Shadow Palette is more edgy, grungy mattes and bold metallic shades – there was a lot of hype around this palette and when it came out it was a little underwhelming. It sell’s for $90.00US which is extremely good savings.

Next was the Anastasia Beverly Hills Holiday Pyramid Collection with an assortment of 8 shades of ultra-reflective metallic cosmetic glitters for face, body and hair. The Pyramid also came with 3 Mini Metallic Liquid Lipsticks in limited-edition shades – And included 4 Mini Lip Glosses also in limited-edition shades which nice to get some new during the holidays from a brand – Vegan, gluten-free and cruelty-free as well. This is available only online and sells for $150.00US, Packaging is a big plus because it is beautiful looks good on a vanity.

Next I got 2, 10 piece Liquid Lips from sets from ABH and I’m not going to go to far into details because we all know what a liquid lip is by now and we all know how they apply them. What I will mention is there is two sets for Fair – Light skin tone (Containing 2 new nude shades and 8 favorite shades) and Medium – Deep. Containing 8 new nude shades and 2 favorite shades – Each lip color features ABH’s full-pigment liquid formula that applies seamlessly and dries down to a weightless matte finish for smudge-proof wearability. This sells for $60.00US, and it very much so worth the price point.

Hey friends, Is everyone getting ready for the holidays? Putting up the tree? We all have so much to be thankful for even if we sometimes forget what it is exactly. I have found myself in the holiday mood once or twice – I have also thought about starting my own YouTube channel, with all the successful items one would need, well I guess you don’t need these items to be successful but for quality it helps to have appropriate lighting, a good camera that shoots 4K HD video and we can’t forget the background relating to who you are as a person, and trust me I tried to have a burning tree behind me but I ended up going to jail for a night for endangerment and being reckless, imagine that..

That going to jail and burning tree was obviously a joke, but I am sure, uh, hopeful that you all got that it was meant to be a joke! Moving on from that! Happy Friday everyone! so I was sent something that I was actually pretty interested in trying and have been for a while now but its one of those items that you think about or see and want to try but once it fades out of your mind, you forget, until you see it again and wonder why you forget in the first place! I assume you read that I’m talking about a DermRoller specifically the luxury and very, expensive Dermaroller and products within the brand, DermSpark, after reading the facts, doing my research and trying the product for three weeks, did it make the cut?

I first want to start off with Dermaroller vs. other rollers because Dermaroller sells for almost $400.00 Canadian but it also comes with Hyaluronic Acid Ampules and we will get into the other products  in a bit. I found myself doing a lot of research when I opened this box because I have no clue why I was sent this until I read it was sent to me in consideration of review so I had to see what made this roller better then say a $20.00 on off Amazon so I went ahead a bought one and found out there was a massive difference in the needles, one being in the separation of them, two being the sharpness, I have a litt le magnifier microscope that plus into my MacBook via USB – and I was kind of shocked at what I saw, the Dermaroller was smooth, there was not a lot of blood, and was ideal in the production of collagen. The Roller I got off Amazon looked horrible, there was a lot of blood and it just looked like I have scratches like an intense rug burn – I also saw that the needles on the Dermaroller were cut fine like a needle should be, and the Roller needles looked almost like staples. Also the way they handled was like night and day. So I do not recommend buying this online from Amazon if its something that you would like to try.

Did it work? Yes, it did. It was so amazing actually for tone, pigmentation, I have a very strong jaw line and smile lines and I wont lie I thought about getting filler and Restylane and I mean lately I was thinking about it a lot because its a not so permeate way to get the look I want – but I have no need for that now, I understand that you’d love to wake up to glowing skin every morning, you might want to learn more about Dermaroller. Dermaroller can help encourage your skin to create new collagen and elastin, helping your skin look plump, smooth, supple, and healthy. I was also sent Hyaluronic Acid Ampules which are incredible and these are the exact same vials as the plastic surgeons office, I thought that was pretty cool. They are perfectly formulated to deeply hydrate and support the natural moisture of the skin it also will bind with waters that fill spaces between collagen fibres, keeping them resilient and elastic.

➡️ The box comes with 30 ampules that contain 1.5ml each, for a total of 45 ml.

So I guess this would be the end, I hope that you guys like the longer more detail reviews in The Cut, I really want to see if the product(s) make The Cut – and yes DERMSPARK DERMAROLLER made The Cut! The last thing I would like to say is make sure if you’re not buying a Dermaroller due to the price point, please do your research because more get 1.5mm needles and that will destroy your skin from first go : it is recommended that for the first three months you use only 0.5mm needles and if, and only if you start to feel it isn’t working out as well you can then go up a size.
